John Mccain, an attractive man with the unanimous appreciation of Conservatives for his war experiences, has abused their respect to CREATE a "get out of jail free" card, enabling him to escape the wrath of conservatives. His activities and his alignment with every dinosaur DEMOCRAT IN THE SENATE, WITH ONE GOAL..DEFEAT AND HUMILIATE GEORGE BUSH at every opportunity. Even his apparent backing of the Iraq invasion had Darth Vader aspects. Combine the additional hatred for Rumsfeld, and a 2-fold strategy.. back the war,.. but.. everything Rumsfeld and Bush do is wrong.! hmmm. Both sides of the issue in one coup! "we should send 450,000 troops not 150,000 troops!". My. The Darth didn't know ,after many years in the Senate, watching as the CLINTONS cut the Military in half, (as they used up all the cluster bombs in kosovo) , that we didn't have 450,000 troops? What did he do to stymie Clinton's rape of the military?
Later on, Mccain backs the ACLU attempt to get Al-Qaida terrorists- POWs, (about which he has another idee-fixe).. POWs, not signatory to Geneva conventions , to be treated as American citizens, and to be tried in American courts . . ..for the FIRST time in history. Never mind being the first to condemn Abu Graeb. Now he is enabling the enemy out loud. " Americans are the bad guys."
Yet again,, MCCAIN gets together a gang of 14 senators to keep Sen. Frist from invoking the "nuclear option" to stop Democrats from filibustering Bush's Judicial appointments.. , which was being done for the FIRST time in history..the Constitution doesn't allow for filibuster of appointments, just a straight-up vote. "In your face, George."
Remember Mccain -Feingold (Finance reform)?."Lets kill free speech, get some honesty in and greedy money out of electioneering.".? Enter George Soros, his billions, and the 527's..and now the Dems have to please Move-on.org, as well as Unions and trial lawyers. Big Improvement for us conservatives, huh?
Mccain leads the charge to prevent Drilling in ANWAR , knowing, we are in danger if we require all our energy from the Middle East, yet claiming to recognize the reasons for the Iraq war, and simultaneously embracing the worst elements of the Democrat's environmental jihad.
If Mccain were only a Maverick, the law of averages would dictate that once in seven years, he would have backed something Conservative. ,The Bush tax cuts, maybe?, Building the fence with Mexico? ( he could do that now, if he is serious about immigration reform? )
But.. worse, when he started condemning the conduct of the war, Mccain enabled and encouraged Democrats to join the fray, feeling free to relive the VIET NAM WAR, with the same result.. shoring up the enemy resolve and extending the war!. John, We keep losing by your activities.!...with Bush gone, if you are president, will you start acting like a Republican? or will your vice president be John Kerry??
The Clinton's will say ANYTHING to get into office, McCain will say ANYTHING to extract revenge. How better to heap burning coals on his enemies, real or imaginary, past, present, or future, than to be President? Is this the best the Republicans can come up with? An enraged, shell-shocked veteran who will spend his term(s) doing whatever it takes, including wrecking the country, to get back at those he feels have offended him.
